Department Information

The Department of Psychology and Criminal Justice includes programs that are designed to produce scientifically analytic, critical thinkers prepared to succeed in meeting the challenges of modern life. We emphasize career preparation in the behavioral sciences through lifelong learning. The Department offers an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Doctorate in Public Safety.

Job Summary

This position is a part-time position to teach a course within our Doctorate of Science in Public Safety program, starting Spring 2025 - 2nd session online course. We are seeking applicants qualified to teach SFTY 8010-Geographic Information Systems. It will be a fully online course.

Mentor/guide doctoral students in use of GIS

Possibilities to teach other courses, consistent with academic credentials.

Actively pursue continuous improvement in teaching.

Actively engage in activities aimed at improving student success in course.

Required Qualifications

Required Educational Qualifications

Minimum of a doctoral degree from a regionally-accredited university (or international equivalent) in a field related to Public Safety and/or Geographic Information Systems.

Required Experience

Experience using and/or teaching GIS.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Prior online teaching experience.
Prior teaching experience at the doctoral level.
