Job Summary

The STEAM Center is seeking a dynamic, bilingual (Spanish/English) instructor to join our High School Equivalency Program. The role involves delivering engaging and effective instruction to adult learners in the evening hours. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education and motivated to help students achieve their academic goals.

This position will instruct students, manage laboratory, shop, studio, and/or classroom activities for an assigned academic or clinical program.

Flexibility is required as it involves working Monday-Thursday from 7-9:30pm to accommodate the schedules of our student population. This position ends September 30, 2025.

Grant Funded Position: This is a grant funded position; therefore, the university will incur no salary obligation beyond funding derived from this source. This position will continue as long as adequate funds are available.

Responsibilities

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Instruct students - 50%

Instruct students in assigned laboratory, shop, studio, and/or classroom setting.

Monitor students - 20%

Monitor students to ensure compliance with lab, shop, studio, and/or program rules and/or requirements.

Advise and assist - 15%

Advise and assist students.

Assignment-specific duties - 15%

Perform a variety of assignment-specific duties which may include maintaining equipment, purchasing supplies and materials, assisting with curriculum development, inputting data, and other specialized tasks.

Required Qualifications

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree and 1-year teaching experience with a GED/High School Equivalency Program or 2-year teaching experience in another classroom context.
