Description:

The Department of Art at Colby College invites applications for a part-time two-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning fall 2025. Two-course teaching load will consist of Introduction to Studio Art and, in alternating years, two levels of Drawing. Introduction to Studio Art includes: elements of composition, figure/ground, introduction to drawing, and color. Drawing I might include: introduction to linear perspective, perception, measurement, introduction to different drawing media and their expressive potential. Drawing II might include: a more advanced curriculum with topics that range from figure drawing to abstraction.


Qualifications:

A completed M.F.A., a minimum of two years teaching experience at the college level, and an active record of creative scholarship are required.
