OVERVIEW & HIGHLIGHTS
The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as a Specialty Lab Technician II - ART Studio Labs. The incumbent performs duties required to assist in the configuration, operation, and maintenance of art studios (2D, Design I, Watercolor, Oil Painting, and Figure Drawing studios, etc.). This position requires knowledge of lighting set-ups and teardowns, still life set-ups, and furniture configurations (as needed by each Instructor). This position also requires the technician to oversee Open Studio Lab hours (approximately 18 hours per week), clean tables (and taborets), scour sinks weekly, and assist students in the operation and use of the Rotatrim paper cutters and beveled mat cutters. The technician should be able to perform office duties that support the Art Department as a whole (to help organize the annual Student Fine Art Exhibition, etc.). AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION:
***This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for 6 monthsand will be used to fill current and future vacancies.***
Current Vacancy: Cuyamaca College - Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Type of position: Full-Time - Monday - Friday - 10-month work assignment - Work schedule will be in alignment with the academic calendar. Two months off time will occur during the lighter instructional times like the winter and summer break.
Anticipated Start Date: December 2024
Salary: Range CL-25
$20.67 - $25.85 Hourly
$3,582 - $4,480 Monthly (based on 40 hours per week)
Initial Salary Placement: New employees start at Step A ($20.67 per hour) or B ($21.85 per hour) on the salary schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from high school and any combination of education and experience equivalent to college level course work in area of assignment or closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Increasingly responsible experience in area of assignment including public contact. Some experience in the use of instructional equipment or tools used in assigned area is preferred.

VETERAN'S POINTS:
- Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 days or more of service who become eligible for appointment by attaining the passing mark established for the examination, shall be allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabled veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points, which shall be added to the percentages attained in the examinations by the veterans.
- Any applicant who claims veteran's credit must submit Form DD 214 at the time the employment application is submitted. Failure to submit Form DD 214 at the time of application shall result in no veteran's credits being considered or added to any passing score.
- The assessment process for this position may include any combination of the following:
- An application screening for initial qualifications
- Supplemental training and experience screening, documentation(s)/ certification(s) screening
- Written examination
- Performance examination
- Oral examination.
- The District reserves the right to utilize a flexible pass point (cut-off) on any test part to meet the staffing needs as determined by the District.
- If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (approximately 3 months) to test again for the same classification during a posted recruitment.
