Senior Director of Academic Success Programs **POSITION DETAILS** The Senior Director of Academic Success Programs under the direction of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Associate Provost will provide support and leadership to the following areas: College Now, Freshman Year Initiative Program (Freshman College), SEEK, Instructional Support Services Program and Prestigious Scholarships. Additionally, the Senior Director will work collaboratively with the Division's Senior Director of Enrollment Management to coordinator enrollment, retention and graduation initiatives. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the college community to develop admissions pipelines, retention, completion, and student success strategies that support the College's mission of 90/30 by fostering and demonstrating educational innovation, program excellence, and institutional commitment to students and their successes. • Develop expected outcomes, both short-term and long-term, for each unit and its programs and services, evaluate the outcomes, and prepare feedback and reports. • Provide leadership and vision for program assessment and accreditation for the Division of Enrollment Management • Leverage technology to maximize student outcomes and organizational efficiencies. • Prepare and administer appropriate departmental budget and authorize expenditures. • Ensure academic policies are in line with and foster student success • Seek out external funding - participate in grant development, writing, and management. • Perform other duties as required **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience required. Possess superior leadership, management, financial, communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to motivate and mentor staff. Have a willingness to take risk to advance student success. Demonstrate a commitment to shared governance and provide the leadership necessary to ensure its success. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of ten years of responsible higher education experience and a proven capacity to lead a wide variety of programs. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Directs curriculum development and operations of a learning resource center. - Designs, implements and monitors a comprehensive student support program based on targeted academic resources such as tutoring, remedial and/or other related support services - Administers all curricular, administrative, and financial aspects of the center; oversees design and delivery of various programs sponsored by the center - Performs outcomes assessment and creates strategic plan to further develop center offerings - Ensures ongoing faculty and staff development to support high quality student services delivery; promotes best practices in field - Manages annual budget; develops proposals and other initiatives for expanded center funding - Cultivates and maintains strategic partnerships; serves as primary liaison to faculty and administrators to plan and execute center activities - Manages professional, instructional and clerical staff - Performs related duties as assigned. On the graduate level, the College has developed professional programs in nursing, teacher and counselor preparation, accounting, computer science, health services, and speech-language pathology. The College also offers strong traditional liberal arts graduate programs in art, biology, English, history, Spanish and mathematics.

For more than two decades, Lehman has deepened its involvement with the surrounding community. The opening of the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in 1980 and the Lehman College Art Gallery in 1984 has made the College a cultural center for the region. Together with the City and the Humanities Program, the Department of Music, and the Theatre program, they present dozens of concerts, plays, dance performances, and exhibitions that are free or nominally priced.

Lehman College also provides a variety of community services. The Institute for Literacy Studies sponsors classes to teach adults fundamentals of reading and writing, while the Speech and Hearing Center offers comprehensive evaluations of hearing and speech-language disorders.

Lehman has joined with the Bronx Superintendent of Schools’ Office and the educational reform organization New Visions for Public Schools to develop seven new small high schools in the Bronx. The schools—housed within larger, traditional high schools—are formed around the themes of the visual arts, teaching, music, college readiness, health sciences, nursing and allied health, and community research and learning.

In addition, in Fall 2003, the High School of American Studies at Lehman College opened on the Lehman campus. One of New York City’s new specialized high schools and the only one to focus on American history, the school represents a collaboration among Lehman College, the New York City Department of Education, and the Gilder-Lehrman Foundation.
