Position Summary

Job Description:

You will be teaching an introductory video production class, which will guide students through the practical and aesthetic aspects of basic digital video production, including camerawork, lighting, and composition. Responsibilities include teaching camerawork, working with lighting gear, assessing student work regularly according to department policies and procedures, and providing progress reports as required.

Outcome:

Through this course, students will show competency in the fundamentals of video production including camera operation, lighting, directing, editing, and sound design.

Essential Functions

Hold class once a week

Design a syllabus that works in compliance with course objectives

Monitoring student progress and providing feedback in a timely manner

Adheres to applicable regulatory rules and standards

Hold office hours once a week

Experience and Education Required

• A bachelor's degree in film, communication, or a related field is required.

• A Masters degree (preferred) or a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in video production.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in camera operations, Adobe Creative Cloud, lighting design, and basic sound design.

• Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.
