St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) Grant Program Director. St. Norbert College has been awarded a three-year grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking on Campus. In its third year of the grant cycle, the primary goal for this position is to continue the comprehensive, coordinated, trauma-informed, and culturally relevant program to prevent and respond to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking on campus. This is a limited-term employment position (end date of 9/30/2025) with the possibility of a grant project period extension.

The Program Director will provide management, oversight, and administration of this program. They will also be responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of program requirements and supporting all grant-related activities.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of theory-based/evidence-informed health promotion/violence prevention strategies, policies, programs and services.  Provides leadership and coordination for the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) grants sponsored by the Department of Justice (DOJ).  Provide initiative updates to the campus and administration upon request. -

  • Directs the development, implementation, analysis and communication of national and local periodic assessments that guide campus wellness promotion/violence prevention strategies by identifying health needs and priorities; evaluating effectiveness of interventions; and monitoring trends of intervention strategies.

  • Coordinates with stakeholders to create/revise comprehensive wellness promotion/violence prevention policies, procedures, project proposals and budgets that ensure effective alignment of resources with operational and strategic goals.  Administer, manage, and monitor budget transactions. Prepare and submit financial receipts and progress reports to the DOJ in accordance with grant requirements.  Pursues opportunities to secure and manage supplemental funding for innovative violence prevention and wellness initiatives from external resources.

  • Attend required grant training and coordinate attendance and participation for appropriate campus stakeholders. Leads, guides, and trains staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers as appropriate to the area of operation. Serve as a point of contact to maintain communication between the campus and the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women.  Ensures that project deliverables are completed on time and according to the statutory and program requirements of the grant program. Maintain detailed documentation of award documents and project deliverables. Collect and organize relevant institutional data to submit in bi-annual performance reports. Adhere to all relevant federal and state laws and confidentiality guidelines. Monitor and abide by all special conditions of the award.

  • Leads, coordinates, and facilitates on-going committee work to include (but not limited to) the Wellness by Design initiative steering committee meetings, and Violence Prevention Coordinated Core Response Team meetings.  Serves on applicable divisional and institutional committees and working groups as it relates to wellness promotion and violence prevention. Collaborates with on and off-campus partners to plan, promote and implement awareness campaigns and programming.

Required Minimum Qualifications -

  • Bachelor Degree in public health, social science, community health education or related field.

  • 2 or more years experience/knowledge of the public health framework of community health improvement process.

  • 2 or more years experience with planning, prioritizing, implementing and evaluating community organization strategies.

  • 1-3 years of related experience including working with multidisciplinary teams, grants, or subject matter work related to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking;

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

  • Demonstrates the ability to be a visionary, energetic, and inclusive leader who champions culture change to foster campus well-being and health.

  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

  • Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner.

  • Skilled at organizing events, programs, projects and seeing them through to completion.
