Biology - Fall 2025

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The university is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Biology at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track biology faculty position to begin Fall 2025.

Required: a PhD in the plant sciences or a related field. At least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent also required. Successful interview and demonstration of relevant ability required. The successful applicant will primarily serve students in our biology program, Environmental Science/Biology, and Environmental Science/Regenerative Organic Agriculture concentrations. They will be expected to teach introductory courses in biology and botany as well as advanced courses including Plant Taxonomy and/or Plant Physiology. The applicant would also be expected to develop courses in their area of expertise. Applicants whose research focuses on agricultural systems will be given special consideration. The successful applicant will develop a research program that involves undergraduates and mentor and advise BS Biology and BS Environmental Science students. Salary competitive. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities, continuing scholarly growth, and service.
