Southeast Missouri State University's Marketing & Communications department is looking for a skilled Web Manager to join our team. The Web Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the University's web presence, ensuring websites provide great user experience, are technically sound, and align with brand standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, marketing, and project management skills to enhance our digital footprint and support our strategic goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, and functionality of the websites, working closely with internal stakeholders to meet their needs Lead and supervise a web team on projects from conception to completion, including site redesigns, updates, and new feature implementations Manage and maintain SEMO’s website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging Implement and monitor web analytics to track site performance, user behavior, and engagement metrics Coordinate with the SEO strategist to optimize website content for search engines and improve organic search rankings Ensure websites are accessible, mobile-friendly, and compliant with web standards and regulations Manage content management systems (CMS) and provide training and support to internal content contributors Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with IT and the web developer​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​Stay updated on the latest web technologies, trends, and best practices to continually enhance our web presence Develop and administer web policies, procedures, and standards to maintain consistency and quality across all web properties Enthusiastically collaborate with team members to achieve University goals, create effective campaigns, and elevate the SEMO brand

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in web development, computer science, marketing, or a related field
  • Proven experience in web management, with a strong portfolio of successful web projects and supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Velocity, and experience with content management systems (CMS). Knowledge of back-end technologies such as PHP or Python
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards as described in WCAG 2.0
  • Superb attention to detail as well as effective written and communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Superior time management, project management, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and the discipline to deliver projects
