The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a Palmetto College campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks candidates for a faculty position in Statistics for a 9-month appointment at the rank of either Assistant Professor or Instructor of Statistics beginning August 16, 2025 or January 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will typically teach twelve credit hours of undergraduate (freshmen and sophomore) statistics courses per semester or its equivalent, including evening and distributed learning courses, as well as courses for dual-credit high school students at both Indian Land and main Lancaster campus locations. In addition to these foundational courses, there are opportunities to teach upper-level courses in the University’s Palmetto College online bachelor’s degree programs.

Applicants for the professional-track Instructor rank must have a Master’s degree in statistics (or a closely related mathematical sciences field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in statistics) by the time of appointment (ABDs considered) and a commitment to university/community service.

Applicants fort the tenure-track Assistant Professor rank must hold a PhD in statistics (or a closely related mathematical sciences field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in statistics), by the start date of employment (ABDs considered) and a commitment to scholarship and university/community service.
