Responsibilities and Duties
Programming:    

    Coordinate CESR’s semester-long high-impact community engagement programs, including the Lutherville Lab Mentorship Program. This includes working with the Assistant Director for Community Impact to develop and update the student leader training, co-facilitating the student leader training, selecting participants, collaborating with community partners to support participants’ applied learning, and managing all logistics.   Coordinate Connect TU, a program that introduces first-year and transfer students to community engagement pathways during Welcome to TU. This includes recruiting participants, developing and updating an educational curriculum, collaborating with campus and community partners to support community-based learning, facilitating the program, and managing all logistics.  Coordinate Impact TU, TU’s annual day of campus-wide community engagement. This includes coordinating a multi-departmental planning team, selecting and communicating with community partners, identifying and training student leaders, managing the registration of 500 participants, and managing logistics.  Guide the Graduate Assistant for Community Engagement in leading the Sustainable Communities Initiative. This includes managing on-campus partner relations, working with the Assistant Director for Community Impact to develop and update a student leader training curriculum, and preparing the Graduate Assistant to facilitate student leader training.   Work with the Assistant Director for Community Impact to develop community-engaged learning workshops for community-based learning courses and student groups. Co-facilitate these workshops with the Assistant Director for Community Impact and the Graduate Assistant for Community Engagement.
Leadership:  

    Support the development of a range of programming to create community engagement pathways that align with CESR's vision, mission, and learning goals, the Division of Student Affairs Strategic Roadmap, the TU Strategic Plan, and current trends in the field of community-engaged learning.  Participate in developing a justice-centered community engagement ecosystem, including support of curriculum development for students. This requires ongoing communication and meetings with the ecosystem leadership team and committee members, as well as close collaboration with other departmental staff, the Faculty Director of Community Engagement, and staff from the Office of Partnerships and Outreach.  Foster relationships with social action-oriented student organizations to connect them to CESR programs and offer opportunities to learn about community engagement best practices.  Serve on divisional and university committees, task forces, workgroups, standing committees, and, if applicable, advise student organizations.   Participate fully in major University programming and programming sponsored by Student Affairs, including, but not limited to New Student Orientation, Family Weekend, and Commencement.  Assist with other duties within CESR and the Division of Student Affairs.  
Partnership Management:  

    Manage relations with campus partners who participate in the Sustainable Communities Initiative. This includes identifying potential TU collaborators, identifying shared goals, orienting partners to CESR mission/vision/goals and the Sustainable Communities Initiative, and checking in on their experience and progress toward shared goals.    Manage day-to-day communications with local partners in the semester-long high-impact community engagement program.  
Supervision:   

    Supervise the Graduate Assistant (GA) for Community Engagement.  Supervise 6-8 student leaders in CESR’s semester-long high-impact community engagement program and the Sustainable Communities Initiative.   Ensure that supervisees follow university rules and regulations; verify expenditures are within their programmatic budgets; make fiscally responsible decisions; understand the strategic vision of the department, division, and university; perform annual performance evaluations; set professional development goals and pursue opportunities aligned with these goals. 
Budgetary Oversight:

    Provide oversight of budgetary expenditures in the Coordinator for Community Engagement area.  Approve timesheets for hourly student employees.  Ensure compliance with university policies and engage in risk assessment and damage mitigation associated with off-campus programs, including student safety, transportation, waivers, and contracts.  
Assessment:   

    Support assessment efforts, including infusing assessment into all programs, assisting in analyzing data, and improving programs based on findings.   Support the distribution and marketing of the Pathways for Civic Engagement and Public Service survey. Incorporate findings from that survey into program design.   Contribute relevant data to the annual end-of-year report. 


Qualifications and Skills
Required:

    Bachelor’s degreeTwo years of experience.The selected candidate must have knowledge of higher education settings; experience with civic engagement and community engagement programs and initiatives; experience working with diverse student populations; committed to continuous learning, development, and research on current trends and best practices; and ability to work with a wide range of students, staff, and faculty in a diverse college setting. Strong communication skills.Understanding of and passion for social issues.Knowledge of best practices for community engagement.Understanding of best practices for university-community partnerships.Demonstrated experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously and with limited supervision.Microsoft Office 365.
Preferred:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Global Studies, History, Modern Languages, Political Sciences, Sociology, or a closely related field.Proficiency in Spanish or other languages, in addition to English.Experience in training student leaders and program facilitation.
