Job SummaryThe School of Arts & Sciences seeks a dynamic candidate for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology faculty position in the Department of Social Sciences. The candidate will offer courses that support the Colleges Bachelor of Science with a Major in Psychology (Human Services Concentration) and the general education curriculum. This is an academic-year 10-month contract. The position is expected to begin August 1, 2025
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities -
-Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Psychology, including Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Human Development, Human Services courses, and other courses that support the Bachelor of Science with a Major in Psychology degree.
-Demonstrate a commitment to using high impact teaching practices.
-Demonstrate a commitment to the effective and accessible use of educational technology in face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction.
-Maintain on-campus office hours, prepare lesson plans and syllabi including course objectives, prepare lectures and other course materials such as quizzes and exams, and submit final grades and attendance reports.
-Conduct academic advisement.
-Maintain an active agenda of service, professional development, and scholarship in support of student success.
-Perform related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Psychology or Human Services from a regionally accredited institution. If currently in progress, the doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2025.
Required Experience
- Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level
- A background in Human Services, Counseling, Developmental, and/or Applied Behavior Analysis
- Ability to teach Introduction to Human Development and Human Services courses, including Introduction to Human Services, Case Management, Organization and Administration of Human Service Agencies, and/or Behavior Analysis for the Human Services.
- Evidence of professional development
Preferred Experience
-Two years of full-time experience teaching Psychology and/or Human Services courses at the collegiate level.
-Certification or evidence of professional development in the area of online teaching.
