Position Summary:Prairie State College seeks candidates for adjunct faculty who are qualified to teach Introduction to Social Work starting Spring 2025 on our main campus.
Candidates will be responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning and collaborating with the Dean and other colleagues to improve the student learning experience. Candidates should also be highly competent in a variety of technology-based programs related to student instruction and be comfortable with teaching in the online setting.
- Master’s Degree in social work or related field or Master’s Degree with 18 hours in the discipline
- Expertise in appropriate technologies for instruction
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Commitment to the mission of the community college
- Ability to support the Prairie State College general education learning outcome areas of Communication, Creative Thinking, Cultural Understanding, Information Literacy, and Problem Solving
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level
- Teaching experience at the community college level
- Credentialed to teach in the online format
- Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds
- Graduate work beyond a Master’s

Prairie State College is a richly diverse community college located 30 minutes south of Chicago. The College serves over 5,000 students through its credit programs and offers a wide range of associate degrees and certificates, all of which feature student-centered instruction.
