Job Details
The Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications invites applications for a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor appointment in Film and Television Program Development beginning Fall 2025 in Ithaca, NY. This position joins the Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies Department (MASS) with 40+ full-time faculty dedicated to teaching excellence who offer 4 degree programs for nearly 1,000 majors, along with 5 minors. The Park School is housed in a state-of-the-art facility with a $5M inventory of film and digital media portable equipment, multiple studio spaces, and cutting-edge technologies including an LED surround wall for virtual production. The Park School is regularly included among the top media schools by the three leading industry publications: Variety, Hollywood Reporter and The Wrap
Primary responsibilities include teaching assigned classes in producing, including any combination of courses such as Digital Media Producing, Program Development, Production Management, Media Writing, and other similar courses
Qualifications: Masters in Film, Television, Screenwriting, or related field is preferred. Candidates with an advanced degree in other areas and with significant industry-related experience will be considered.
The successful candidate will teach a full course load per academic year, act as an academic advisor for students, and serve on Department, School, and College committees. There is an also an expectation of research, creative, and/or professional work. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to teach in ways that value the varied learning needs and interests of a culturally diverse student population, and that reflect a commitment to encouraging success in all students.

Hiring Range: $61,000 - $65,000, dependent on discipline, qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include access to industry-level equipment and facilities for creative work.
