Job OverviewThe Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for one non-tenure track position at the level of an Assistant or Associate Professor – Educator to support the educational mission of its Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Program. A broad and diverse spectrum of candidates is sought; women, members of underrepresented groups, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged. Rank and salary will be negotiated commensurate with the candidate's qualifications.

Candidates in a broad range of Industrial and Systems Engineering will be considered.

About the DepartmentThe Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering currently has 45 faculty members and an enrollment of about 1700 undergraduate and 270 graduate students. The Department offers ABET accredited B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering; M.S., Master of Engineering, and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in Materials Science and Engineering. Also, the B.S. and the M. Eng degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering are offered. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering are expected to be launched in Spring 2025. The Department has research focus areas in Structural Dynamics, Advanced Manufacturing, Industry 4.0/5.0, Thermal-Fluids Science, Applied and Computational Mechanics, Nanotechnology and Materials Science, Intelligent Systems, System Optimization, Safety. The Department currently has eight faculty members who have strong Industrial and Systems Engineering background.

Essential Functions
    Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (such as quality control, data analytics, and system simulation) on ISE curricula, hold office hours, as well as grade and prepare assessment materials.Participate in curriculum and course development.Perform outreach activities such as student career mentoring, advising of student organizations, and student recruiting. Additional responsibilities will include service activities as needed, such as membership in departmental, college, and/or university committees and interaction with the Department External Advisory Board.
Minimum Requirements

Prior to effective date of appointment, a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field.
