Typical Duties

  1. Direct the development and implementation of the Title V program to meet the goals, objectives, and outcomes, and ensure compliance with college and federal requirements.
  2. Develop, implement and manage program activities, timeline, and communication plan to inform the President's Cabinet and key administrators of progress during the implementation of the program.
  3. Collaborate with Student Success Center to develop and implement improved academic support services including innovations with tutoring and other potential academic support strategies as described in the Title V Grant.
  4. Collaborate with Center for Teaching and Learning to develop and implement faculty development opportunities as outlined in the Title V Grant.
  5. Coordinate with Dean for Student Success to improve program pathways including both the career and transfer plan components.
  6. Collaborate with Student Success Center to develop and implement improved academic support services including innovations with tutoring and other potential academic support strategies. 
  7. Establish the Hispanic Student Advisory Council to support the efforts of the grant as well as to inform servingness strategies.
  8. Collaborate with the Strategic Planning and Alignment Committee to develop and implement strategic planning efforts that support the access and attainment for Hispanic and low-income students.
  9. Develop strategies to institutionalize grant goals and ensure the assimilation of successful Title V components into the college learning environment.
  10. Collaborate with Student and Community Engagement, Instruction and Administrative Services in the development of projects that align with MCC’s strategic plan.
  11. Act as a guide and organizer for inclusivity training and development among students entailing a consultative and cooperative method to enhance cultural and pedagogical competencies across the institution specific to student experience. This will involve offering support in policy, assessment, and resource allocation to foster intentional practices and policies to advance competencies and effect change for the student and campus community.
  12. Develop, manage, and maintain a high level of programming engagement on campus by overseeing and supervising the Coordinator of Inclusive Excellence in the implementation of crucial programming.
  13. Work closely with Student and Community Engagement and other campus partners to provide institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives that impact the student experience at MCC
  14. Ensure adherence to federal and regulatory agency rules and regulations; maintain appropriate records of compliance.
  15. Plan, prepare, and administer program budget.
  16. Analyze and evaluate program effectiveness. Implement ongoing formative and summative evaluation, data reporting and analytics, and monitor outcomes for continuous improvement. Writes reports. Assist external evaluator, as required.
  17. Supervise grant project staff.
  18. Develop and manage Title V web page, write news releases, newsletters, and other communications and disseminate accordingly. Work closely with Office of College Communications department to report progress of activities.
  19. Other program duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum:
    Training and Experience

    Preferred Education/ Training/ Experience:
    • Master's degree in related field plus three years directly related project management experience, preferably in higher education; one year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of student success intervention services and strategies that address the needs of college students from Hispanic, low-income and first-generation college backgrounds. Excellent skills in communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal relationships required to collaborate with multiple groups and constituents. Demonstrated success as a member of a support team.
    • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

  • Budget Management - Effectively safeguard fiscal resources, and consistently adhere to all internal control procedures designed to prevent and detect theft or misuse of funds. Remain alert to potential breaches of financial security/control procedures and immediately report incidents and problems. Actively seek ways to improve internal controls. Keep up-to-date on changes to fiscal procedures, principles, standards, rates, etc. Ensure all financial data is properly calculated and reported. Responsibly allocate and account for use of fiscal resources, evaluating alternatives and weighing their benefits. Research or recognize market value of goods and services to ensure efficient and reasonable expenditure of resources.
