Description

The Team Coordinator is the primary representative to the student body for the College’s Business Office. Must accurately perform assigned manual/or machine accounting applications related to the accounts receivable function. Performs related tasks as assigned.

Examples of Duties

  • Processes cash receipts and accounts receivable records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Receives money/payments and gives receipts.
  • Prepares student and 3rd party billings.
  • Assists with verifying financial aid and other refund checks as authorized.
  • Maintains cash and accounts receivable registers.
  • Assists students with billing questions and concerns.
  • Maintains pertinent records and files.
  • Completes reconciliation and data entry assignments.
  • Accurately completes daily cashier settlement.
  • Assists in preparing reports and lists.
  • Verifies cash and prepares bank deposits.
  • Assists with training of new Business Office personnel.
  • Manages Business Office email and voicemail boxes with timely responses.
  • Processes county chargeback billings and credits each semester.
  • Assists with collection efforts on past-due balances.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential student records in compliance with FERPA regulations.
  • Answers phone inquiries related to student accounts and accepts payments by phone.
  • Performs other related work as required.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of directly applicable cash handling experience required. Prior experience in higher education preferred.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook required.
  • Ability to work with discretion, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours, including nights to meet department and College needs.
  • Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment.
