Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Summary:

The TRIO SSS Professional Aid will assist the Director with day-to-day operations. Daily tasks include data entry, filing, processing incoming applications, assisting in maintaining records and accounts, and other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Tasks and responsibilities:

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Performs direct administrative support to the director of the TRIO Student Support Services program and supports all staff meetings. Schedules appointments, maintains calendars, coordinates meetings.

DATA ENTRY AND PROCESSING SUPPORT: Track student participation; Create and maintain student files for program staff. Maintain regular organization and revision of TRIO SSS files. Assist in the collection and maintenance of student-related data, including demographics, academic progress, program participation, and other relevant metrics. Take an active role in the management and maintenance of the Lacai Student Information System, ensuring data accuracy, system functionality, and user support. 

GENERAL OFFICE SUPPORT: Includes various clerical functions such as answering the program email accounts, scanning and organizing office records and storage, maintaining electronic and paper files, and handling meeting/supply purchases, and other related clerical tasks.

OTHER DUTIES: Conduct other tasks as assigned by the program director. Other duties as assigned including supporting TRIO SSS staff and peer student staff by providing information about the TRIO SSS Program and its mission.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in student programming in a college or university setting.
  • Familiarity with federal grant programs, particularly TRIO programs, including legislation and regulations related to TRIO.
  • Strong skills in documentation, tracking, and data compliance. 
  • Experience handing confidential information.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Strong organizational skills.
