As the assistant director of the office of neurodiversity services, you will consult with university departments – including disability resources, counseling, academic departments, residence life, registrar's office, academic affairs, admissions, etc. – regarding disability and behavioral issues related to neurodiversity. You will provide one-on-one support and use applied behavior analysis therapy to determine necessary accommodations and academic adjustments based on the student's documentation, Section 504/ADA guidelines, and other screening tools. Your responsibilities will include providing skills training to students to improve their executive functioning, life skills, and emotion regulation. You will also manage an active caseload of neurodivergent students, provide therapy groups and community referrals as needed, and participate in campus-wide efforts to improve access for neurodivergent students.

As the assistant director, you will be part of a collaborative team, supervising a clinical behavior specialist, student workers, and interns. Together, you will work to create success plans for students with higher-level needs, using research-based practices. Your role will involve providing support and consultation to the SCAD community in neurodiversity, fostering a sense of inclusion and teamwork. You will also maintain the disability services database, attend weekly case conferences, and work to develop psychoeducational programming and presentations.

In this position, you will be responsible for timely documenting student contact in the computer system, participating in quarterly student orientations and department performance improvement initiatives, and preparing performance reviews for supervisor approvals. You will also maintain a personal schedule in relation to the department's master calendar and inform the supervisor of staff development needs.

Minimum Qualifications:    

• Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis, behavioral science, or a related field
• Experience as a board-certified behavioral analyst (BCBA)

Preferred Qualifications:    

• Two years (min.) of experience in higher education environments
• Peers’ certification

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

• Credentials as a BCBA

Travel Required:

•   Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
