Position Summary

Job Description:
The Stabler Department of Nursing is seeking to hire qualified adjunct clinical faculty in Pennsylvania to supervise nurse practitioner students in the clinical setting in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.

Applicants should have an established record of teaching or precepting in nursing. Adjunct faculty work in collaboration with full-time faculty to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that assists students in the integration of knowledge, inter-professional communication, and development of professional values.

Adjunct faculty are expected to assess student learning outcomes; provide support and guidance; and evaluate performance of learning outcomes.

Outcome:
Successful hiring of 1-2 adjunct faculty to teach a graduate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner clinical course in Spring 2025.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains current knowledge related to clinical policies and procedures.
  • Keeps the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Serves as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in the clinical setting.
  • Evaluates weekly assignments and provides feedback to students in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to applicable regulatory rules and standards.
  • Experience and Education Required

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania
  • Graduate degree in nursing
  • 1 year of experience as a nurse practitioner
  • 1 year of experience in teaching or precepting
  • Required Skills and Qualifications

    Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team. Adjunct faculty work in collaboration with full-time faculty to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that assists students in the integration of knowledge, interprofessional communication, and development of professional values in the clinical practice setting.
