Job SummaryThe Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Dewar College of Education and Human Services seeks applicants for a tenure track, faculty position beginning August 1, 2025.The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate's area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is comprised of 10 full-time faculty who work with students in B.S.Ed. and M.S.Ed. programs in Speech-Language Pathology. The department supports students at all levels of their career pathways and is a partner with educational and medical training facilities throughout the South Georgia region and beyond.

ResponsibilitiesDepartment Summary
- Teaching up to 12 credit hours (fall and spring) of undergraduate and graduate level courses
- Establish a program of research and disseminate results through presentations and publications
- Academic advising for undergraduate and graduate students
- Engagement in the program, department, university, discipline, and community
Typical Allocation of Duties
Teaching and scholarship - 100%
Teach classes and conducts/presents research in the employee's academic discipline.
- Terminal degree at the time of appointment in Communication Sciences and Disorders or closely related field (Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred, SLPD considered)
- Experience with online/distance education
- ASHA certified in Speech-Language Pathology, and eligible for licensure in Georgia
- Strong record of, or potential for publications in the candidate's area of interest
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship
- Expertise in pediatric evaluation and treatment of speech disorders
- A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant¿s career stage
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting
- A record of mentoring students, in clinical and/or research experiences
- Previous college-level teaching experience in Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Knowledge and experience with course subject-matter, evidence-based teaching, and clinical practices
- Strong communication skills and a student-inspired approach to teaching for educational excellence, equity, advocacy, and serving students and communities
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
