Description:Hofstra University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite applications for an adjunct faculty position (adjunct instructor or adjunct assistant/associate/full professor) in the Department of Biology to teach introductory biology lab courses and potentially courses in microbiology, physiology, or cell biology.
The faculty member must be available for at least one to two hours of office hours per week and attend weekly lab instructors’ meetings. Teaching load is typically one or two courses per semester; maximum enrollment for a lab section is approximately 20 students.
- Master’s degree in biology or closely related discipline.
- Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in an educational environment.
Preferred Quals Summary:
- Prior university teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Both a PhD and teaching experience is required for appointment at the Adjunct Assistant Professor or greater level.
