Minimum Qualifications:Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:- 7 years or more of increasingly responsible experience in human resources
- 2 years or more of supervisory experience
- Previous experience in recruitment and hiring for a large organization preferred
- Experience working in a higher ed university environment preferred
The Senior Director of Talent and Recruiting is a key contributor to the success of UGA’s greatest resource: its people! Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, the Senior Director leads the Executive Search Group and the Staff Recruitment and Hiring team to ensure UGA remains an employer of choice. Utilizing qualitative and quantitative analytics, the Senior Director creates, executes, and evaluates recruitment and hiring strategies to identify, attract, recruit, and retain top internal and external talent. As a University Human Resources Leadership Team member, the Senior Director engages with various internal and external to ensure a positive candidate experience and develop a robust talent pipeline to meet the growing needs of the University.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:- Experienced in developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies to build a robust talent pipeline, while fostering a strong employer brand.
- Strong background in higher education recruiting with a proven ability to identify, attract, and hire top talent
- Strong background in recruiting.
- Professional experience in an office setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of people at all levels of management within and external to a university environment.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in planning, organizing, prioritizing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of functions throughout human resources to appreciate the intersection of recruiting and talent management with other functions.

Duties/Responsibilities:Support Model:
- Direct a team to develop and implement a service model for a decentralized human resources service model. This includes partnering with departmental human resource representatives through delegation of system responsibilities and providing support resources for unit-level recruitment efforts.
- Advise and consult with hiring managers to provide strategic recruitment support for the university

- Serve as a member of the University Human Resources (UHR) Leadership team by participating in meetings, providing support to other leadership team members, and working in partnership with other central departments (examples- Legal Affairs, University System of Georgia Human Resources).
- Actively engage in efforts to achieve the strategic plan for the University Human Resources organization.
- Manage a staff including two Directors: the Executive Search Group and Talent, along with several team members
