The Mathematics Instructor’s responsibilities include teaching a comprehensive range of math courses, such as Algebra, Calculus, and developmental math, to college students (including dual credit high school students). Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online with varying teaching locations including on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. Correctional facility instructional assignments may be available, if desired.
This position is an exempt faculty appointment reporting to LSCPA’s General Education and Developmental Studies Department.
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Minimum of 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
- Teaching experience in a two-year college or in a university
- Experience advising college students
- Experience serving on college-wide committees
- Doctorate degree in the teaching discipline
Commensurate with experience.

Lamar State College - Port Arthur, a member of The Texas State University System, is an open-access, comprehensive public two-year college offering quality and affordable instruction leading to associate degrees and a variety of certificates.
