The University Counseling Center provides comprehensive mental health services at the University of Oklahoma within the Division of Student Affairs. Our mission is to provide high quality counseling and crisis intervention to our campus community members, consultation and outreach services to campus organizations, and training and supervision opportunities for emerging mental health clinicians. We are looking for a psychologist to provide counseling services for groups and individuals that promote mental health, assist individuals dealing with addictions and substance abuse, family, parenting, marital problems, suicide, stress management, self-esteem, aging, mental and emotional health.
Essential Duties:
- Provide counseling services and psychological assessments to students
- Develop treatment plans, advocate for patients in team meetings, acts as liaison to community agencies on treatment plan
- Serves as consultant to faculty and staff on counseling related issues regarding students.

- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Location
Required Education: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology
- 24 months as a Counseling Psychologist or School Psychologist.
Skills:
- Knowledge of psychological theory and practice.
- Ability to empathize with a wide range of people.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build a rapport with students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to handle stressful and possible volatile situations.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws related to confidentiality and mental health practice including HIPAA, FERPA, and Oklahoma Mental Health law.
Certifications:
- Certification as a Licensed Psychologist by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of Psychologist or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire date.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for prolonged periods. Frequent repetitive motions. Speaking and listening. Standard Office Environment.
Departmental Preferences:
- Doctorate Degree and ability to obtain Oklahoma State Psychologist License within 18 months of hire.
Supervision: May supervise Psychology Intern and/or student trainees. (1-2)
