Department Summary
In partnership with and in support of administrative stakeholders, the Business Information Technology team designs, develops, configures, enhances, optimizes, and maintains products and platforms that enable UCLA's business functions (e.g., Budget & Financial Management, Student Information, Faculty Information, Business Information, Human Resource Information, Customer Relationship Management).The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Products team conceives, configures, monitors, defines, tests, delivers, monitors, optimizes, and refines CRM products and application technologies, including but not limited to mobile and web applications, collaboration tools, CRM products, budget/financial management products, HR applications, and other services. This department also works to optimize user experience, address digital accessibility needs, and establish the highest standards of quality assurance and release management for UCLA's administrative applications and technologies.
Position Summary
The Senior Software Developer, ServiceNow, will design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain applications within the ServiceNow platform to enhance business processes and workflows. This role involves leading the development lifecycle from conceptual design through to implementation and optimization, focusing on both back-end logic and integration with various internal and external systems. The Senior Developer will collaborate extensively with business system analysts, administrators and product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all software solutions meet functional and technical requirements. They will be responsible for crafting clean, efficient code, conducting code reviews, and ensuring best practices in data management and script performance. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and optimizing ServiceNow applications, evaluating system workflows and data utilization, and addressing complex problem areas. The role also involves mentorship of junior developers and collaboration with front-end developers to ensure seamless user experience and functionality. Additionally, the Senior Developer will stay abreast of emerging technologies within the ServiceNow ecosystem and broader IT landscape, recommending technologies for adoption and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for ongoing projects.
The Senior Software Developer, ServiceNow will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage ServiceNow and applications. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.
Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Special Conditions for Employment
- This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).
The anticipated pay range for this position is $136,980-$150,768, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
