Position Summary
New College at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, invites applications for a full-time (9-month), tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Interdisciplinary Environmental Policy, with a preference given to those researching environmental issues in the southern United States through the lens of public policy, humanities, or history.

Detailed Position Information
The successful candidate would be appointed to New College, with a cross-appointment in the Department of Political Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences. The ideal candidate will complement the interdisciplinary research and teaching of New College faculty working across the liberal arts in the areas of environment, sustainability and conservation; social problems and social change; and cultural studies. In addition, the successful candidate must be committed to excellence in the teaching and advising of undergraduate students with varied interests in interdisciplinary social sciences and environmental studies, as well as to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in the partner department.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D., with evidence of significant intellectual contributions to the field and a demonstrated commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level. Duties in the partner department may include graduate-level teaching and mentoring in addition to teaching and advising at the undergraduate level.
