Job Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, leadership, and direction to areas of responsibility including fiscal management and human resources. Ensure staff provides excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external customers. Promptly resolve all customer problems and issues.
- Organize, direct, and control operation of the districtwide food service operations and catering; conference services, outsourced vending, and market, advertise, and promote the products of the operations.
- Develop and maintain a data-driven system to analyze pricing, potential profit or loss activities, and opportunities of the operations. Develop, recommend and implement changes that improve operations and services.
- Maintain strong technical skills to upgrade/implement software used by conference and food services. Integrate conference/food services software with other districtwide software. Look for ways to improve current software usage to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels of goods and services provided. Continually appraise the needs of students and faculty. Monitor emerging trends and developments in the industry and look for new sources of revenue.
- Develop departmental goals and objectives.
- Develop the operating budget and manage all departmental spending activities to ensure that all auxiliary services areas operate within approved budgets. Monitor monthly expenditures and initiate corrective action, as necessary. Project long-range needs for personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Supervise the buying of merchandise. Ensure managers select appropriate products based on quality, terms, and price.
- Approve all inventory disposals and write offs.
- Develop and maintain an internal control system that prevents theft of college assets and provides accurate and timely information. Ensure staff complete periodic inventory counts/valuations and review for accuracy.
- Directly or indirectly supervise all staff assigned to division. Determine staffing needs based on goals and objectives of division. Oversee recruitment, hiring, and training of staff by subordinate managers. Prepare or review all performance evaluations ensuring consistent use of applicable policies and procedures. Counsel, discipline, and/or terminate employees as required.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and five (5) years experience. Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Preferred
Seven (7) years of directly related experience. Three (3) years supervisory experience.
