About the College/Unit/Department:THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Kinesiology has 29 full‐time faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., M.S.A.T. and Ph.D. programs in the academic areas of athletic training, sport management, exercise science, and health and physical education. Department faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their scholarly accomplishments, teaching excellence, and service to their professional disciplines. The Department has excellent resources, facilities, and collaboration opportunities in the area of Athletic Training. The UGA Athletic Training Program has a long-standing history of excellence and is in good standing with the CAATE. THE COLLEGE: As the 4th largest public college of education in the country and the 3rd largest college at UGA, the Mary Frances Early College of Education (MFE COE) improves the lives of residents of Georgia and beyond through our instruction, research, and service. The MFE COE is a comprehensive college with disciplines focused on teacher preparation, counseling and human development, communication sciences, human movement sciences, career development, student affairs, and educational administration and policy. We place significant emphasis on graduate education with approximately 40% of our students at the graduate level, making us the second largest college at UGA with respect to graduate education.

Position Summary:
The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time clinical assistant professor to serve as Program Director in the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) Program to begin in Fall 2025.
The Clinical Assistant Professor will have the following
Responsibilities:
- Instruct graduate and undergraduate courses
- Mentor professional graduate students in Athletic Training
- Provide service to the University, state, and/or the field
Program Director duties are compensated separately and include:
- Manage all aspects of the MSAT Program
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Clinical Education, MSAT Program faculty, and all Program affiliates
- Monitor CAATE requirements for compliance with accreditation standards and completion of accreditation documents
- Perform regular MSAT Program assessments
- Direct two teaching laboratories, the AT Education Laboratory and the Kinesiology Simulation Laboratory
- Identify and purchase supplies and equipment needed for laboratory and instruction within the MSAT Program
- Certification and good standing with the Board of Certification
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Georgia at the time of hire
- NPI number with Athletic Training designation upon appointment
- A minimum of 2 years clinical practice as an Athletic Trainer
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching in an Athletic Training curriculum
- 5 years or more of teaching in an Athletic Training curriculum
- 5 years or more of clinical practice as an Athletic Trainer
- Evidence of prior experience as an Athletic Training Program Director and/or Coordinator of Clinical Education
- Evidence of prior Athletic Training student mentorship experience
- Evidence of contemporary expertise in one or more Athletic Training content areas
