Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Supports the SSD administers and staff, manages administrative processes within the SSD as well as other independent projects.

OUTCOME:

  • Effective management and coordination of the operations and special projects for the SSD.
  • Effective support of the Associate Provost of SSD.
  • Clear, expedient, and professional dissemination of SSD information.

  • Essential Functions

  • Provide logistical support (handle incoming calls/emails, mail, office receptions, manage correspondence, rooms/office space. Supplies, forms, and appointments) for Associate Provost. (25%)
  • Manage, update, and analyze files, reports, and budgets using specialized software such as, but not limited to Excel, Qualtrics, SPSS, CUBE, Banner, and 25Live. (20%)
  • Manage special projects as assigned by Associate Provost. (15%)
  • Coordinate meetings/special events and provide support for campus/division events. (10%)
  • Monitor and respond to issues associated with specialty software (e.g. SSN, Slate). (5%)
  • Assist with design and creation of SSD print and digital publications (website and electric forms). (5%)
  • Coordinate and communicate relevant information in SSD and serve as a liaison to the campus community on behalf of the SSD (10%)
  • Provide support for additional areas under the SSD umbrella. (10%)
  • Experience and Education Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years office support/management experience, preferably in academic environment
  • Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with simultaneous responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to turn conceptual problem into working solutions
  • Superior oral and written skills; ability to communicate complex issues to all stakeholders
  • Ability to relate to others: excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of FERPA and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge and experience with database systems used in education (Banner). As well as budget management and spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong Computer skills; familiarity with MS Office Suite- willingness to learn other software packages.
