The Principal Gifts team is dedicated to nurturing the University’s most significant donor relationships and facilitating high-level donor engagement and stewardship activities.
The Administrative Coordinator for Principal Gifts is an integral member of the team in the Office of University Advancement at William & Mary working with university leadership, volunteers, and donors at the highest level.
The Administrative Coordinator for Principal Gifts (Administrative Coordinator) reports to the principal gifts team and is primarily responsible for administrative support for the principal gifts program and secondarily responsible for administrative support for foundation operations. This includes executive level support for the Assistant Vice President as well as budget management, data management, and data analysis, reporting, calendar management, and writing memos, briefings, and strategic plans.

- This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of administrative support (typically more than one year).
- Commitment to excellence and accountability, with the ability to multi-task, work independently and collaboratively while exercising sound judgment.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse constituency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, taking an appropriate level of initiative to interpret, apply, and explain policies and procedures, and make logical, defensible decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and expertise managing timelines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), moderate proficiency in Acrobat Pro, and/or similar programs with the ability to learn development and design-related software.
- Demonstrated skills in data entry and tracking, with the ability to produce reports that include strategic data visualization.
- Several years of experience (typically 3+ years) working in a fast paced, goal-oriented department supporting competing priorities in support of organization leadership or a department head.
- Experience in supporting volunteers or volunteer boards.
- Demonstrated proficiency in proofreading and editing complex documents with careful attention to detail.
- Experience in event or meeting coordination/planning.
- Experience in managing or coordinating travel logistics.
- Budget experience processing invoices, reimbursements, and/or reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of Commonwealth of VA State and University policies and procedures.

Advertised Pay Range:Up to $45,000, commensurate with experience
