Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Manager, Custodial Operation to provide direct supervision within the custodial operations team for college facilities event set up and planning for both internal and external events which includes the leadership, direction, training, inspection, and coaching of custodial staff conducting physical event location set ups/break downs. Leads physical event coordination logistics including daily cleaning, set ups, and staffing assignments in accordance with established department procedures.

  • Coordinates with the Custodial leadership in planning, directing, and supervising of custodial staff. Responsible for serving on all shifts, as needed, to provide leadership coverage for events and other custodial functions.
  • Utilize the college schedule system to plan setups and coordinate all internal/external events regarding setup/reset, cleaning and custodial overtime requests through the college systems. Post custodial overtime forms and approve them when needed.
  • Attend regular planning meetings for college event/facilities scheduling to provide project oversight and input
  • on behalf of the custodial team. Supervise external/internal college facility setups/resets in all main campus buildings and regional buildings with support from the custodial manager and supervisors.
  • Supervise custodians directly regarding facilities event set up/break down staffing. Responsible for organizing and tracking Facilities Setup Process forms/diagrams/work orders.
  • Collaborate with the Conference and Events Specialists regarding external events.
  • Lead the custodial staff in the physical facility configurations for internal/external events held on the college
  • grounds.
  • Responsible for equipment and supplies issued to employees assigned to work area being maintained.
  • Responsible for managing work orders in facilities system and ensuring follow through and closure of completing requests.
  • Fulfill special projects requests: floor stripping, wall washing, event setups, as needed. Specifically for
  • training purposes or additional coaching opportunities.
  • Assists in hiring and new hire processes.
  • Responsible for attendance tracking and performance management of assigned employees.
  • Provides training to employees per department plan; assists in implementation of overall training programs.
  • Required to drive College vehicles to transport item across campus, as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • High School graduate or equivalent required.
      • Some college preferred.
    • Experience
      • Minimum of 2- years experience in custodial operations or conducting physical set ups for buildings, events, and operations in a large environment.
      • Prior experience in a leadership role or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
      • Demonstrated experience with computer scheduling systems and strong ability with data base tracking.

      • Forklift/Scissor/Aerial Lift
      • Electrical Safety


    Working Conditions:

  • Computer, floor machines, pressure washers, vacuums, lifts, trucks.
  • Walking for long periods of time, standing, bending.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
  • Must have valid driver's license to drive college vehicles.
  • This position requires a background check, physical, and drug screen.

    Hiring Range:
    Managerial 1 Hourly/22.00 - 25.00 based on experience
