SALARY: 

 

$20.00 - $21.00 per hour, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range.  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

The Administrative Assistant will have responsibilities for working with the Assistant Director of Research and Scholarly Activity at MCOM, the research coordinator and under the direction of the Principal investigator of the grant of contract and/or the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarly Activity. While the Principal Investigator of the grant/contract is primarily responsible for the overall design, conduct, and management of the research, the Administrative Assistant supports, facilitates and coordinates the daily grant/contract activities and plays a necessary role in the recruitment of the participants and the conduct of the study. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will also maintain a detailed spreadsheet of budget expenditures and create reports for the sponsor under the direction of the PI. Part of the administrative assistant's time may also be devoted to helping the MCOM Assistant Director of Research and Scholarly Activity.

Essential Job Functions
  • Help manage the recruitment process and other documents necessary for HIPPA compliance and clinical trial compliance.
  • Manage secure filing systems in electronic and paper format necessary to conduct the research.
  • Provide administrative assistance with ordering supplies and other administrative duties for MCOM.
  • Work with appropriate personnel in Finance and Operations to track the expenditures and request invoicing of the sponsors of research projects
  • Work cooperatively with others and accept direction from the Assistant Director of RSA MCOM, PI, Finance and the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarly Activity
  • Support the Assistant Director of RSA at MCOM with clerical and organizational tasks
  • Coordinate necessary software program training and management
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice Provost of RSA
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with oral/written communication.
  • Demonstrate intermediate skill level or higher data entry knowledge and computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in such web-based programs as Google Sheets, Docs, Presentations.
  • Ability to work with high level of confidential material with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Technical Writing, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a health related field or significant progress towards this degree.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in organizing or supporting the user experience
  • Professional background in academic environment
