About the Role
As the Associate Professor in Pharmacy, you will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching and research efforts of the School, within the University, and with the community, professional, commercial and industrial sectors. More specifically, you will be responsible for providing original, innovative and distinguished contributions to the School's programs for maintaining and advancing your scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities relevant to this discipline at a national and international level.
As the Professor in Pharmacy, you will contribute significantly to teaching and research outputs, building capability of staff and promoting strong academic performance. You will provide high level research leadership, developing and leading research project teams and programs, fostering a vibrant research culture. You will be required to develop a high-quality and productivity-driven research network across RMIT and with external national and global partners. You will also teach and make a significant contribution to teaching and learning in the discipline with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students.
About You
To be successful for Level D, you will have (but not limited to):
- Demonstrated ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs.
- Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets and emerging international recognition.
- Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort, manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
In addition to the above, to be successful for Level E, you will have (but not limited to):
- Extensive experience in attracting and supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead improvement of academic standards, including implementing best practice teaching strategies and dissemination of innovative practices.
- Evidence of demonstrated strategic leadership in a large organisational unit or University-wide initiative and effective membership of a management team that developed and achieved shared goals and objectives.
Qualification:
Mandatory: PhD in a pharmacy related field
Desirable: AHPRA registration or eligible for AHPRA registration

About the School
The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences comprises three Academic areas (Allied Health, Applied Health, and Biomedical Sciences). Primarily based at the RMIT Bundoora campus, we undertake teaching and research across ten disciplines: Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, Exercise Science, Human Biosciences, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Radiations, Nursing, Osteopathy, Pharmacy and Psychology. Many of our programs include Work Integrated Learning as an intrinsic part of student learning, both through placements in partner industries and through the University's student led Health Sciences Clinic located at Bundoora.
