Compensation: $65,000 /yr (consideration for transferable experience relevant to the role)

Overview / Job Summary:
The Director of Industry Training for Applied Technologies & Professional Studies will lead the development, implementation, and management of WSU Tech Open Education (non-credit and workforce training programs) designed to meet the evolving needs of local industries and the community. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to build strong partnerships with industry leaders, develop innovative training solutions, and enhance the college's educational offerings. The ideal candidate will have experience in program development, sales, and relationship-building, with a focus on creating high-quality, impactful training opportunities that contribute to the college’s mission and goals. This position works collaboratively with academics, the Director of Industry Training for Healthcare, and the Senior Director of Industry Training for Aviation.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
- Program Development: Design and launch non-credit courses and workforce training programs tailored to meet industry needs and local workforce demands in coordination with academics.Revenue Generation: Achieve revenue targets through the development and sale of training programs, ensuring that these programs are financially self-sustaining and contribute positively to the institution's bottom line.Industry Partnership Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with local businesses, industry leaders, and community organizations to identify training needs and secure contracts.Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for all training programs, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximizing profitability.Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all programs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, while continuously seeking feedback for improvement.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or relevant industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or workforce training.Ability to build lasting industry partnerships.Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Proven track record of revenue generation and program development.Experience in building and maintaining industry partnershipsAbility to analyze market trends and develop relevant training programs.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
