Job Description:


Works in collaboration with Technology Support Services (TSS) members to provide support and service to the BHCC computer user community.


Other duties include:


  • Replacing keyboard, mouse, and other peripheral equipment of workstations.
  • Unboxing & placing computers & peripherals.
  • Loading paper in printers/replacing toner and ink cartridges.
  • Removal of paper jams in printers.
  • Providing escalation to help student log in or obtain access to applications.
  • Assistance in navigation to core College applications (such as Moodle) and websites.
  • Help in maintaining clean labs and work areas.
  • Alert supervisor of problems or student issues that may not be readily resolvable.
  • Power on workstation in lab areas and check for operability and report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
  • Assist in issues of student email access.
  • Have a high level of customer support as you are helping our students.


Requirements:


  • Must have very good communication skills.
  • Can take and follow technical directions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse student, faculty and staff population.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledgeable in the support of Apple OSX, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office 2016 and Windows 10.
  • Experience in the support of mobile devices such as laptops, tablets, and smart phones.


Additional Information:


Salary: $20.00/hr. @ 10-18 hrs. per week - No benefits


Shift: 10-18 hours per week | Monday - Friday


Must be available to work between 10 to 18 hours per week (Saturday and Sunday work may be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) is a multi-campus urban institution, its main campus situated in the historic Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. A second campus is located in nearby Chelsea, Massachusetts; five satellites are located in the local communities of Cambridge, Chinatown, Revere, Somerville and Boston’s South End.

Founded in 1973 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, BHCC enrolls more than 8,100 students in day, evening, weekend, web-based and distance learning courses and programs.
