Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:The Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) at Texas Southern University is seeking to fill several full-time Visiting Instructor positions, at the level of Visiting Instructor. This appointment is without tenure and is not tenure track. This appoiintment is for one semester only and may be renewed as needed. The successful persons will be responsible to teach no more than four (three semester credit hours) DMS classes in the hired semester and assume a reasonable workload of related activities that constitute a full-time instructional load; Schedule and maintain office hours for minimum of (2) hours per class per week in the hired semester, and Perform scholarly activities, quality instruction and public service commensurate with the mission of Texas Southern University.
Essential Duties Summary:- Teaching primarily undergraduate DMS courses.
- Performs other job-related duties such as but not limited to:
- Maintain and submits an accurate student attendance.
- Report Non-attending students by the 12th day of the semester.
- Submits the student progress reports by the dates advertised during the semester.
- Submit the mid-term grades as well as the final grades by the dates advertised during the semester.
- Any other course related task as assigned.

Hiring Range:Commensurate with experience.
Education:A Master (PhD) degree in Mathematics or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required to teach undergraduate (Graduate) classes.

- Both verbal and written communication.

Preference is given to candidates who have either the working experience or the teaching experience in Mathematical Sciences.
Working/Environmental Conditions:- Prolonged standing and/or walking.
- Handling light weight objects.
- Using or carrying equipment.
