Description

The Director of Assessment and Curriculum is responsible for assisting in the overall University Assessment and Accreditation systems, supporting faculty and programs in measuring student progress toward educational outcomes, and supporting curricular innovations to improve alignment and student attainment of skill and knowledge. Reporting to the Assistant Provost for Accreditation & Assessment, this position will be expected to participate in a collaborative undertaking within multiple programs to facilitate the deployment and utilization of sound assessment practices and address curricular, assessment, and accreditation needs.
Other responsibilities include faculty development activities and university-wide strategic planning and implementation.

Examples of Duties

  • Work collaboratively to provide comprehensive assessment support for accredidation and programmatic enhancement.
  • Provide expertise in assessment strategies and program evaluation.
  • Provide support in designing, organizing, executing, and interpreting analytical studies, including the determination of approach to data collection, appropriate research methodology, and statistical techniques.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to ensure a shared understanding of data and curricular needs are held by all stakeholders.
  • Provide faculty support with professional development opportunities in the areas of assessment, curriculum, pedagogy, and accreditation.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic computer skills are required, and skills with specialized assessment software are preferred.
  • Communication skills to work with individuals across the spectrum of assessment and in various disciplines and departments
  • Organizational skills to enhance responsiveness to regional and specialized accreditation demands and deadlines
  • Leadership skills to create an environment in which assessment is embraced and outcomes inform initiatives

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Education: Master’s required; Doctorate preferred
    Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in academia, experience in the area of educational outcomes assessment preferred.
    Special Skills: Communication skills that allow the individual to respond to the needs of faculty and administration for creative and efficient models of curriculum and outcomes assessments.
