This is a full-time faculty position. The faculty member will direct the Healthcare Leadership program and will teach a variety of undergraduate health care leadership courses. The ideal candidate will possess teaching experience, as well as professional experience in a healthcare leadership position with significant responsibility. Broad-based healthcare experience and perspective is preferred.

Position responsibilities:


1. Work closely with the Dean of the Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions to maintain the quality of the Health Care Leadership Program and contribute to continued growth in this program, as well as possible new ventures related to Health Care Leadership. This may include graduate/professional programming.

2. Teach a variety of courses within the Health Care Leadership Program and manage and supervise internships. Normal teaching load (teaching and internship supervision) is 12 credits per semester.

3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with program alumni, health care leaders, and practicing professionals in the region. This includes facilitating a Healthcare Leadership Advisory Council.

4. Develop internship sites and supervise student internships. Supervision of internships is required in summer months.

5. Advise and mentor students within the Health Care Leadership Program including supervision of activities of the Student Health Care Leadership Group.

6. Provide oversight for possible program certification.

7. Contribute to administrative functions within the program including oversight of operating budgets, course scheduling, assessment efforts, etc.

8. Engage in service as needed within the program, college, and community.

9. Assist in the recruitment of prospective students to the program and the college.

10. Assist in fund raising and grant writing for the Health Care Leadership Program and the School of Health Professions.

Going Places

Within six months of graduation, 96 percent of recently surveyed new Concordia graduates reported being employed or attending graduate school. Concordia students have achieved an 88 percent acceptance rate into medical school (in 10 years surveyed). Ninety-three percent of Concordia graduates applying for law school are accepted.
