Job SummaryIn this position, the student tutor will have the opportunity to assist other students in developing a deeper understanding of a foreign language. During assigned times, tutor will assist other students in developing good study practices to maintain/improve their grade in lower to mid-level language courses taught at Middle Georgia State University. Tutors set and adhere to their schedule within the allotted number of hours provided.
Responsibilities- Student will maintain consistent schedule of availability for tutoring hours; location is both on the Macon campus, and through TEAMS scheduling.
- Maintain all work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Maintain his/her academic work load while handling a work study job opportunity.
- Must be dependable and prompt.
- Must adhere to the code of confidentiality.
- Be cordial to all students, staff, faculty and visitors entering the tutoring area.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Currently enrolled at Muddle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Position dependent on approval from assigned language professor (Spanish, Korean, French); student must be either a native speaker or in an advanced relevant language course.
- A student worker must have knowledge of computers and different software programs.
- Student is required to retain Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) confidentiality.
