Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:The successful applicant will be expected to teach a 3/2 course load including foundational chemistry courses in chemistry and biochemistry, teaching laboratory courses, advanced courses in their sub-discipline to both undergraduate and graduate (Masters) students, and other courses as assigned. The faculty candidate will be expected to establish a viable research program in biochemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or bioorganic chemistry, support by external funding, and supervise/train student researches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The faculty candidate will also be expected to participate in service activities at the department, collegiate, and university level as needed. The candidate hired for this position will be assigned laboratory and office space appropriate to their teaching and research needs.
Minimum Education Requirements:PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field is required. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment will be considered.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:One year of experience as an instructor or teaching assistant in chemistry in a university setting is preferred.
