Tenure Track position in Biology
Illinois Wesleyan University
The Department of Biology at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for a Tenure Track position for an ecologist beginning August 1, 2025.
Responsibilities:
Within the context of a 3:3 teaching load, the candidate will be responsible for 1) developing and teaching ecology and organismal diversity courses (some of which will have laboratories) 2) contributing to an introductory biology series for the biology program, and 3) teaching introductory and advanced (field-based) courses to serve the Environmental Studies program. In addition, the candidate will be expected to establish and sustain a research program and mentor undergraduate research students.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. degree prior to the start date. A demonstrable commitment to excellence in undergraduate education is essential; as such, preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the university level.
