Sales and Marketing Specialist

Job Details

Reporting to the Director of Conference Services, this position provides marketing and sales leadership targeting external conferences and events, including overnight camps, corporate meetings, social functions, intern housing and registration services.  Assist the Director with long term visioning and marketing strategies that support growth goals. This is a full time, 12 month, on-campus position.  Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off and access to multiple tuition programs for employees and dependents.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Direct the sales process for externally-sponsored constituents; lead the response process for requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs) and requests for quotes (RFQs), along with correlating presentations and contract negotiations; develop and cultivate strong business relationships with existing and potential clients; negotiate and execute facility and service usage agreements that adhere to university policies, timelines, and mission-critical goals; conduct scheduled and unscheduled tours of the spaces and client visits.

     

    Plans, develops, and executes strategic marketing plans to increase visibility, lead generation, and revenue; maintain and coordinate the management of website content, look, and feel as it relates to internal and external audiences; coordinate all digital and printed advertising (paid and organic) as well as any public relations and networkings opportunities that may arise; oversee social media marketing efforts including content creation, editing, management, and analysis of social media presence; perform graphic design duties for print and digital materials for the department and university food services vendor, including catering menus, event fliers, and advertisements

     

    Conduct competitive analysis and market research; lead cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing and potential clients to ensure competitiveness and maximize net profit margin; develop sales metrics and reporting to track and measure the quality and/or volume of leads, sales conversions, sales revenue, client loyalty, return on investment (ROI) and other critical business metrics

     

                     

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field preferred; combination of education and professional experience may substitute for degree

     

  • Minimum of one year related experience; knowledge of marketing, sales/negotiation skills, digital marketing strategies, graphic design software, content creation and CRM software would be beneficial

     

    Serve in a summer on-call rotation to support intern staff and direct emergency response protocols during evenings and weekends
