POSITION OFFERED: Director of Educational Opportunity Programs and Assistant Diversity Officer
EMPLOYMENT DATE: ASAP
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Grant Funded, Renewable, Full-Time, 12-Months
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of Educational Opportunity Programs and Assistant Diversity Officer DEOP/ADO) will work closely with and report to the AVP of Student Services and Senior Diversity Officer (AVPSSSDO) to implement best practices related to equity, diversity, justice, and inclusion (EDJI) Plan. The DEOP/ADO will provide leadership and advocacy for the overall administration of EOP, including supervision, planning, data management, reporting, program development and implementation, budget management, and program assessment. The DEOP/ADO is also accountable for EOP program student recruitment, enrollment, and retention initiatives to ensure operational effectiveness through a coordinated, collaborative and integrated approach. Additionally, the DEOP/ADO will represent the College to groups and organizations in the larger community regarding the interests related to program success. Responsibilities also include assisting EOP students in their transition and development as students at the College and directing them to additional resources.
This position is within the Professional Administrators Union. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to New York State at time of employment. Additionally, maintaining New York State residency will be required for the duration of employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold an earned Master's degree in a field relevant to the position and at least four years of related work experience. Must demonstrate the ability to meet the travel requirements of the position. Periodic travel and some evenings and weekends in support of special projects and events will be required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or Higher Education Leadership, Counseling, or fields related to this position; four years or more of academic/student affairs experience in a college setting; Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary; Experience supervising professional staff; Experience coordinating and providing academic support (e.g., programming, advisement services); Strong analytic and problem-solving skills; Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of college students.
EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: $64,531-$96,797 Salary subject to change pending outcome of Professional Administrators Union negotiations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a College employee, this appointment includes NYS retirement benefit options with a choice of a pension or generous employer match to a 414 retirement plan, attractive Health Care options with 80% of premiums covered by the College, post-retirement health insurance and supportive work-life balance with 16 holidays, 20 vacation and 12 sick days per year along with tuition assistance in addition to other benefits offered by the College. Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) is one of 30 community colleges and 64 campuses in the State University of New York system. TC3 is located in Dryden in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, near Ithaca, a naturally beautiful area with rich resources and an educational focus with 4 colleges and universities in a 20-mile radius. The college serves more than three thousand students in credit programs and another three thousand in non-credit workshops and customized training.
The college offers 54 academic programs in business, computers, health, communications, liberal arts, criminal justice, and human services. Specific degree programs include broadcast production, computer forensics, aviation science, engineering science, new media, sport management, and several liberal arts programs, including education and general studies.
