Job SummaryGeorgia Highlands College is seeking qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable working professionals who enjoy teaching to serve as Temporary/Part-Time Instructors in GHC’s Center for Continuing Education and Professional Programs. Courses and seminars are taught in a broad array of subjects, presented in varying formats lasting from one day to several weeks. Flexible scheduling is available, including day, evening, and weekend courses.
ResponsibilitiesTypical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Preparing lesson plans for classroom instruction
• Developing program and syllabi, goals and objectives
• Evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports
• Maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field
• Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the classroom area
Required QualificationsRequired qualifications may vary by discipline taught, but generally include a minimum of three years full-time work experience and appropriate education/training credentials pertinent to the course subject matter. Formal teaching certification is not required.
Proposed SalaryThis is a 12 week course meeting once a week. Salary is $1000 for the course. Course is tentatively scheduled to start Sept. 19, 2024 at our Cartersville Campus
