The Opportunity
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida (UF), College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida is seeking a Clinical Assistant/ Associate Professor in Psychology for outpatient practice. The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenured multi-mission track faculty position. This position provides traditional or intensive therapeutic services to children, adults, and families in an outpatient setting. As a faculty member in a teaching institution, the position will also provide individual supervision for graduate practicum students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows. The Department of Psychiatry has flagship programs in Obsessive-Compulsive Related Disorders (OCRDs) diagnosis and treatment, with a focus on exposure and response prevention (ERP) and cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and treatment, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Expertise in ERP/CBT for OCRDs and/or PCIT is of specific interest for this position. Depending on expertise and experience, this position may also coordinate patient care within the OCRD or PCIT programs.
In addition, faculty in the Department of Psychiatry are engaged in UF and national collaborations that afford rich opportunities for career development. The Department of Psychiatry and Division of Psychology offer an extensive network for clinical research/ scholarly collaborations. There is also the opportunity for program development involving inpatient treatment, outpatient services, and consultation. As a faculty member in the College of Medicine, the candidate will contribute to its educational mission by participating in graduate and/or medical education, particularly the teaching of psychology graduate students, interns, postdoctoral fellows, and mental health counselor interns, as well as child fellows, general psychiatry residents, and medical students during rotations and seminar teaching. Finally, the successful candidate must be willing to engage in service at the level of the department, college, and larger profession.
Expected Salary:

Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology. Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist - the applicant must be licensed when the position starts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skilled in provision of evidence-based psychotherapy treatment of OCRDs and/or PCIT (e.g., Certified PCIT within-agency, regional, or global trainer) is strongly preferred
- Strong teaching interest and experience with teaching
- Experience as a clinical supervisor
- Completed an accredited psychology program with the American Psychological Association
- Strong candidates will be motivated mental health providers with a desire for a career within an academic setting
- Experience with children
- Possess prior clinical experience in a teaching institution or service setting
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong written communication skills
