Position Summary
This position assists the Director and the department in the delivery of comprehensive library services for students, faculty, staff, and other approved patrons.
Salary Schedule Placement: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E4 05 ($33,625 -$50,777) based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Act as a backup for the Circulation/Reference desk. Encourage understanding and usage of the library, including print and online resources, among students, faculty, and staff, via appropriate media.Manage campus usage and scheduling for library spaces. Orient new hires to library operations and coordinate work study employment with the appropriate staff. Perform general secretarial/clerical duties including, but not limited to, receiving and directing in-coming telephone calls and visitors to the areapreparing purchase orders, invoices, travel requests, reports, and other documents. tracking and monitoring expenditures placing requisitions managing office supplieskeyboarding, filing, and other office operations Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of documents, general files, and other pertinent information. Serve on college committees as assigned. In order to perform these essential functions, the Library Services Specialist must be present at work. Therefore, attendance, including being prompt and punctual in reporting for work, meetings, and office hours, is an essential job function. Perform other duties as assigned. - Associate's degree in library or information science/studies/services or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- General secretarial skills and knowledge of standard office equipment and software
- General knowledge of graphic design applications (Canva, Piktochart, Adobe Express, etc.) is a plus
- Cataloging experience is a plus
