Overview

Job Summary: The Student Aide in Early Childhood Settings assists teachers providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. This role involves supporting classroom activities, helping with the care and supervision of children, and contributing to the overall operations of the early childhood program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher with the implementation of lesson plans and daily activities.
  • Help set up and clean up classroom materials and activities.
  • Support children during group activities, ensuring they are engaged and participating.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with transitions between activities, including arrival and departure, meal times, and nap times.
  • Monitor children’s behavior and provide positive reinforcement and guidance.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as handwashing and ensure that children follow proper hygiene practices.
  • Provide comfort and emotional support to children as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with lead teachers, staff regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
  • Support an inclusive classroom environment that respects and celebrates diversity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or director.
