Department Summary
The Williams Institute, a national research center on sexual orientation and gender identity law and policy at UCLA School of Law, seeks an experienced and energetic communications professional with a passion for advancing the mission of the Institute. Under the general direction of the Communications Director and members of the Williams Institute Senior Management Team, the Communications Associate provides communications assistance on behalf of the Williams Institute.
Position Summary
The Communications Associate will help to develop, plan, execute, maintain, and measure the results of the Institute's comprehensive communications strategy. The role includes increasing visibility, awareness, and engagement in the Institute's research, events, and staff through various platforms such as print and digital media, social media, newsletters, and the website. The Associate will translate research into easily accessible content for lay audiences and create high-quality content that showcases the Institute's scientific rigor. The Associate will also be responsible for responsible for the administration, maintenance, and content management of the website. In addition, the Associate will help to develop, foster, and maintain relationships with collaborators and key stakeholders and assist the Communications Director with other projects as necessary.
