Job Description:
University of Florida's Veterinary Community Outreach Program is recruiting for a Veterinary Technician to join their team centered around providing medical care to shelter and rescue animals. The program is designed to introduce students to the challenges of veterinary practice in both community and shelter environments and give experience in spay and neuter techniques plus preventative medicine of canines and felines. This position works closely with clinicians and students providing necessary care to adoptable pets. This is a fast-paced area with a strong teaching component. Technicians provide support by assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, anesthesia, and surgery, as well as providing insight, instruction, and demonstration to veterinary students.
Example of Veterinary Technician Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
The service receives Monday - Friday. May require working earlier than 8:00am or later than 5:00pm
This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel. A post-offer education verification, background check, and health assessment are required.
Expected Salary:
Non-credentialed Technician - $18-22, Credentialed Technician - $20-25
Minimum Requirements:
Veterinary Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience.
Veterinary Technician II: Credentialed veterinary technician

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.

Health Assessment Required:
